FRIDAY · DECEMBER 2nd 2011 · 7PM-9PM · MORE DULCIMER? MORE DULCIMER!

Ted Yoder will be back for another dulcimering, this time for a special holiday concert in the tea room. For those of you who saw/heard him in October, now would be a good time to come back. For those of you who missed it, now would be a good time to show up and seek forgiveness.

Doors open at 6.30pm. $4 cover charge. Not a bad price for an evening enjoying that which has the power to soothe the savage beast. (Note: this is an idiom. We're talking poetically about music here. Please do not show up expecting Ted Yoder to soothe an actual savage beast. Not for a measly 4 bucks anyway.)

THURSDAY · OCTOBER 13th 2011 · 7PM · DULCIMER? DULCIMER!

2010 Hammered Dulcimer Champ Ted Yoder will be, um, dulcimering here in the tea room live and unplugged.

The dulcimer's origin is uncertain, but tradition holds it was invented in Persia 2000ish years ago. Ted Yoder's origins are as follows (from his website:)

Ted Yoder"Life-long Indiana native Ted grew up in a musically inclined family, like a lot of musicians. His whole life has been filled with writing, performing, recording, experimenting with new instruments... But it wasn't until Ted received his first hammered dulcimer as a wedding gift that Ted knew he'd found his niche. Ted decided that the hammered dulcimer had gotten a bad rap, being narrowly categorized as a mountain bluegrass instrument. Ted knew there was great potential here as he began mastering and experimenting with this eclectic and maligned instrument."

So there.

This event is free! Doors open at 6.30pm. Tea, coffee and pastries will be available for sale. Check out Ted's website HERE.
