How a British Tea Room Opened in St. Louis

The London Tea Room began with a simple problem: Pat and Alan Richardson, two British ex-pats relocated to St. Louis over 17 years ago, couldn’t find a proper cuppa. So, as any good Brits would do, they opened a tea room. Originally intended to treat guests visiting their downtown furniture store to an authentic British tea experience, their little tea corner quickly took on a life of its own.

Two decades later, we’re the 3rd generation of Richardsons to serve an authentic British tea experience to you, and we couldn’t be more proud. Our new space on Union Blvd features classic teas from The London Tea Merchant, alongside tea-infused cocktails, European-inspired fare, and an expanded retail shop including candles and accessories from London Lights.

Whether you're here for brunch, a quiet moment, or a special event, our goal is simple: serve great tea and warm hospitality in a space that feels like home.

Cheers!

Nathan & Joshua Richardson
